The Secret of Persistence
Summary:
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:1 KJV)
Prayer is important, it demands persistence. Many give up before they have encountered their answers. The word of God shows us the importance of persistence.
Jesus gives us an example of a widow that was persistent when facing a wicked judge. She wanted her petition granted but the king would not budge;
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. (Luke 18:1-5 KJV)
She persisted until the ruler felt that it was easier to grant her requests than to maintain his stance and feed his ego.
You too will have whatever you ask as you persist in prayer today. May the Lord demonstrate His grace to you!
