Radical Breakthrough
Summary:
And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How have you broken forth? this breach be upon you: therefore his name was called Pharez. (Genesis 38:28–29)
In the above passage, the midwife who delivered Pharez experienced a similar situation. This baby’s brother was set to come out of the womb first. Yet God had other plans, and Pharez became the firstborn. The name Pharez essentially means “breakthrough.” Two characteristics of breakthrough are sudden and supernatural. Breakthroughs are not based on our level of education, affluence, or even natural talent; they are the result of the supernatural power of God.
I believe we are living in a season of supernatural breakthrough. In fact, you are about to embark on the greatest time of your life. The midwife asked Pharez, in effect, “How did you break through?” and people are going to ask you the same question when they see the supernatural manifestation of God’s promises in your life. They will want to know: “How did your marriage turn around so quickly?” “How were you instantly healed?” “How did your ministry take off?”
My desire is to set you up for a radical breakthrough. And while breakthroughs are sudden, they are far from spontaneous—the key is faith. Don’t forget that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Simply believe, and God will confirm His Word to you with signs and wonders. (See Mark 16:20.)
BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER
Father, I acknowledge that You are the Lord of the breakthrough. I recognize that Your miraculous hand is in manifestation in my life. Supernatural doors open for me because I am connected to a supernatural God. I declare that I am in a season of release. Today, I will encounter miracles. I will experience the supernatural grace of God. I will testify of the goodness of the Lord in every area of my life. Many will ask me, “How did you break through?” I will answer them by declaring that miracles are my portion. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
