Are you wasting your fast?
Summary:
Day 9: 21 Days of Daniel Fasting
Doing as you please on the day of your fasting.
The prophet Isaiah spoke of a people who wondered why their fasting was of no effect. These people were saying, “Why have we fasted,… and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed? He responded by drawing their attention to the fact that on the day of their fasting, they were doing as they pleased.
The prophet Jeremiah gave a similar message: “They greatly love to wander; they do not restrain their feet. So the Lord does not accept them…. Although they fast, I will not listen to their cry. When people have no intention to forsake their love for wandering or restrain their undisciplined ways, their fasting is wasted.
During a fast, the attitude of the heart should be to bring all personal desires into submission to what God desires. Fasting is a time for habits and routines to be transformed, not to remain unchanged.
I declare, you are experiencing light in areas where there was darkness in your life. May the Holy Spirit guide you through the Word that is in your spirit!
Declaration:
I stand on the Word of God today and I speak the Word. There is no situation that resists the Word in my life. I decree and declare that as a product of the Word of God, I am moving forward and gaining ground in my life.
