Spiritual problems need spiritual solutions

One day Jesus had a man come to him petitioning him to heal his son who was a lunatic. Obviously this man had done all he could to bring healing to his child but to no avail. The demon that possessed him often threw him into the fire and into the water. Its mission was to kill him. I want you to understand that the challenges you are facing have their toot in the spiritual realm. You cannot solve spiritual problems at a natural level. The father of the child realized this and sought a spiritual solution. Initially he brought the child to the disciples, who tried everything but could not cure him.

When he was brought to Jesus, he commanded the evil spirit to out of the child and he was instantly healed. The disciples in private asked Jesus why their efforts were in vain when they tried to help this child.

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (Matthew 17: 19-21 KJV).

In explaining this, Jesus pointed to the importance of faith and overcoming unbelief but also points us to types of demons and what it takes to overcome them. This type that possessed the boy would not go without prayer and fasting. There are definitely some issues that have remained stubborn and unanswered in your life because of the need for a higher intervention of prayer and fasting. You are a witness that the solutions you have tried to employ so far have either been inadequate or completely unsuitable for the challenges.

Fasting and prayer is therefore a necessity not an option, it is a need and not a luxury.
